A Smarter Approach - Precision Care For the Whole You

Holistic Mind Psychiatry

A psychiatric practice for people who want more than a fifteen minute appointment and a prescription, offering thorough, unhurried care that treats the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.

I help adults held back by anxiety, low confidence, and racing minds, who have been rushed through the system and never felt truly heard, finally get to the bottom of what is holding them back, so they can stop surviving and start living.

I believe medication is a starting point, not a finish line. Real healing only happens when someone finally feels safe enough to be fully heard, and when their whole life, their culture, their family, their history, is part of the plan, not an afterthought.

I Specialize In:

  • Medication management for depression, anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and OCD

  • ADHD treatment

  • Bipolar spectrum disorder management

  • Integrative psychiatric care that includes nutritional support, lifestyle change, and lab informed treatment

  • Culturally sensitive psychiatric care for patients from immigrant, multicultural, and underserved backgrounds

Hi, I’m Arlene Vergara, PMHNP.

I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes medication is one piece of the pie, not the whole picture, and that real healing happens when we treat the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, with enough time to actually understand the life behind the symptoms.

I came to psychiatry the long way. I spent six years as a dialysis nurse before I really understood how much mental health was quietly shaping my patients' lives. It took one man, recovering from substance use and aching to come home to his kids, to wake me up. Around that same time, I lost a family member to suicide, and watched a close relative in the LGBTQ community struggle in silence because no one around her understood. I asked myself if I was going to keep doing the same job for the rest of my life, or make a real change. I chose psychiatry, and I have built my approach around the things I felt were missing: thorough explanations, real listening, cultural awareness, and the willingness to sacrifice time so the person in front of me actually gets the care they deserve.

One day you'll look back and realize that the same hardship you were praying to get through is exactly what shaped the person you were always meant to become.

Do You…?

  • Feel like fear is the wall between you and the life you actually want?

  • Talk yourself out of going places because you cannot stop wondering what people will think?

  • Watch others land jobs, build relationships, and seem to handle life with an ease you cannot quite reach, while your own mind races, snaps, and refuses to slow down long enough for you to catch up?

  • Lie awake at 2am thinking about a job interview you are afraid to fail, a relationship that is slipping through your fingers, or a version of yourself you used to be and are not sure how to find again?

  • Feel like you’ve been quietly carrying anxiety, low confidence, or a scattered mind for so long that you have started to believe this is just who you are?

It is not who you are. It is what is happening to you, and there is real work we can do together.

If you want to develop more self-awareness, build confidence to try, fail, and try again, and finally feel safe enough in your own life to make decisions from a place that is not fear, you are in exactly the right place.

Treatment Modalities

A holistic, individualized approach so you can stop surviving and start living.

  • Medication Management. Real conversations about your options, the benefits, the risks, the side effects, and how each medication actually fits your life, so you can finally feel confident in what you are taking and why.

  • Supportive Therapy and CBT Informed Care. Built in space during your appointments to talk through what is keeping you stuck, develop self awareness, and build practical tools for managing anxiety, low confidence, and the racing thoughts that keep you up at night.

  • Nutraceuticals and Targeted Supplements. Vitamin D, B complex, fish oil with DHA and EPA, and magnesium glycinate when appropriate, because low vitamin levels can quietly drain your mood, your energy, and your motivation while you wonder why you feel so flat.

  • Lifestyle and Substance Counseling. Honest, judgment free conversations about diet, exercise, sleep, cannabis, nicotine, and alcohol, because the choices you make outside our appointments either support your treatment or work against it.

  • Laboratory Testing and Monitoring. Bloodwork to catch deficiencies, monitor medication safety, and stay ahead of problems instead of reacting to them, so your treatment is built on what is actually happening in your body, not guesswork.

  • Culturally Sensitive Care. Your culture, your family, your background, and your support system are part of who you are, so they are part of your plan. I work with patients from immigrant, multicultural, and underserved backgrounds, and I understand what it feels like when mental health was never something your family talked about.

  • Unhurried, Patient Centered Appointments. Longer sessions, real listening, and follow up phone calls when you need them, because you deserve a provider who is paying attention to all of it, not watching the clock.
